I meant that the fail culture was developed in our brains like other traits? for example greed. By referring to the roman colosseum, I was pointing out that its not a new concept. We just recently started using the term "fail" to describe it.

thanks for your comment..."developed"? ...more than half the world's population has been left to die in heat and dirt...and the other half has been lead to think that it's okay for pursuit of "happiness" to come at the expense of others...what development are you speaking of?...seems to me that we could do much better at this development thing...and? looking back on history and using it as justification for the present seems a bit fatalistic...or did i misinterpret your comment?..
